The ICE unit of DHS is planning two days of industry briefings and one-on-one discussions in Washington, DC, on Jan. 16 and 17 about its charter flight program, which carries thousands of alien nationals within the U.S. for staging purposes and also back to their home countries.

“The purpose of the meeting is to provide interested vendors with an overview of the program requirements, upcoming requirements, and an opportunity to gather more information and solicit industry feedback prior to the Request for Proposal (RFP) being issued,” explained a special notice published by ICE on Jan. 9.

ICE’s charter flight program consists of:

Small aircraft long range international charters -- with 200 international flight hours guaranteed and another 200 hours possible;

Daily large charters -- which would depart from San Antonio, TX; an undetermined location in Louisiana; Mesa, AZ; Miami, FL; and occasionally operate into Tegucigalpa, Honduras;

Large aircraft long range international charters – which would guarantee 100 hours and possibly include an additional 300 hours.

The Industry Days briefing will take place at the Potomac Center North, at 500 12th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20024, on Jan. 16 and 17, from 8 AM to 4 PM on both days.

The charters will include commercial aircraft plus flight crews, security crews and flight nurse services, says the ICE notice.

“There is no registration fee and all qualified vendors are eligible to attend this event,” the notice continues.

Interested parties must register by email by Jan. 14 by sending their name, company name, address, phone number and email address to
