....Why so many Liberians in the US when that country is pretty stable now?

Apparently we have a category for temporary asylum (for humanitarian purposes!) and we brought thousands of Liberians here years ago. In February, I reported that many where supposed to be deported to Liberia by March 31st, but a public relations campaign, spearheaded by Senator Jack Reed of one of America’s highest unemployment states, Rhode Island, was waged to keep them here. Guess he won. We lost.

And evidently the program for Somali refugees has been reinstated despite having been suspended for several years because of the overwhelming amount of fraud involved. They had to begin using DNA testing (at U.S. taxpayer expense) to verify the validity of "relatives" being claimed for admittance under this program.

And the Somalis refugee sons here in the USA go off to help the Taliban. Nice bunch of new immigrants!

I finally got around to something I’ve been promising to do for weeks (months!) and that is go over all the records of Somali resettlement numbers.

I do want to remind readers that these numbers are only for the Refugee Resettlement Program of the US State Department. We just had a commenter to another post suggesting that the numbers are much larger then the government statistics indicate for immigration to the US. I don’t doubt that. But, again, these are the numbers that the Office of Refugee Resettlement must present to Congress each year for that special category “refugees.â€
