SAN DIEGO — Border Patrol agents arrested 24 people who attempted to enter the country by sea over the weekend, and seized three boats, authorities said.
At 6:30 a.m. Friday agents answered a call of suspicious activity near the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station and arrested a person on the beach who told them he arrived there illegally by boat. They searched the area and arrested eight companions, they said.
Later they arrested a Mexican male driving a van who said he was looking for the eight, according to a statement by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, agents saw a cabin-style vessel near Mission Bay and approached the operator as it docked. Agents found five Mexican nationals on board, all of whom were entering illegally, they said. The vessel was seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials. The operator was arrested on smuggling charges.
About 1 p.m. Sunday, agents intercepted a 24-foot Bayliner near Ocean Beach and arrested eight Mexican nationals who were entering the country illegally, authorities said. One of the eight faces smuggling charges. That vessel was also seized.

Agents say weekend smuggling attempts thwarted
North County Times
April 12, 2010 9:07 pm
Federal agents said Monday they thwarted three smuggling attempts along the San Diego County coast over the weekend --- including one incident near the San Onofre nuclear power plant.
The incidents netted the arrests of 24 illegal immigrants from Mexico and one U.S. citizen, according to a press release issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The first of the three incidents happened about 6:30 a.m. on Friday near the nuclear power plant, when U.S. Border Patrol agents stopped a man who reportedly admitted slipping into the county aboard a panga boat.
Agents then searched the area and found an additional nine people, all suspected to be illegal immigrants. A few hours later, agents encountered a Mexican man driving a white van; the man admitted he was in the area to pick up a group of illegal immigrants, authorities said.
The second event came at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when agents found a U.S. citizen driving a cabin-style boat carrying five suspected illegal immigrants from Mexico near Mission Bay, authorities said.
On Sunday, agents intercepted a 24-foot Bayliner near Ocean Beach. On board were eight suspected illegal immigrants from Mexico, officials said.

NOW THEY ARE COMING BY THE BOAT LOAD IN ORDER TO GET IN ON THE AMNESTY THAT THEY HEAR THE PRESIDENT AND HARRY REID ARE PROMISING THIS YEAR I DON'T THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO BE MAKING PROMISES THAT THEY CAN'T KEEP. I SAY WE MARCH IN OUR STREETS UNTIL THAT BORDER IS CLOSED TO ALL OF THEM COMING FROM SOUTH OF THE BORDER. IF THEY CAN MARCH IN ORDER TO HAVE THEIR DEMANDS MET THEN WHY CAN/DON'T WE WE HAVE A LEGAL RIGHT TO DO SO WHERE AS THEY DIDN'T/DON'T
