SIERRA VISTA - A woman and her 13-year-old daughter, both described as illegal immigrants, are recovering today after being rescued last night in southeastern Arizona's Ramsey Canyon.

The mother called 9-1-1 from a cell phone, reporting that they were lost after having become separated from a group of other people three days prior.

A Cochise County sheriff's spokeswoman says by the description the 38-year-old woman gave, search and rescue crews knew their location.

By the time crews reached the pair, however, hikers had found them and had walked them down the trail to Ramsey Canyon Preserve.

Fry Fire District Chief Bill Miller says the woman reported chest pains and was dehydrated. He says her daughter was suffering from leg pain but had no obvious fractures after having fallen.
