Demonstraters held signs and flags and played music Saturday in front of the James Hanley Federal Building in Syracuse to voice their opposition to legislation that would grant amnesty to illegal immigrants.

Angela McConville of Baldwinsville, who organized the protest, equated amnesty to cutting in line, which, she said, is not fair to those immigrants who want to come to the U.S. legally.

“They should go through the process,â€
