The former head of a Cache County immigrant community center is back behind bars and facing sex abuse accusations just months after being released from jail.

For more than 30 years, Leovigildo "Leo" Bravo, 63, served as an advocate for the immigrant community and was the director of the Multicultural Center of Cache Valley.

Logan police on Tuesday arrested Bravo and booked him into jail on suspicion of forcible sex abuse, object rape, sodomy and rape, according to jail records.

In a statement released Wednesday, Logan police said they had been contacted by an out-of-state police agency in October and told about a possible second victim. The case was screened with the Cache County Attorney’s Office before Bravo was booked into jail, according to the statement, though no formal charges had been filed as of Wednesday afternoon.

Bravo was sentenced in April to one year in the Cache County Jail on reduced charges of attempted forcible sex abuse.

Prosecutors have said Bravo used his position of trust to take advantage of "a vulnerable woman who came to him for help."

Bravo was granted an early release in October and ordered to seek treatment, according to court records.
