Who gets aid for college from the government?

The illegal immigrant situation we have in our country is not a racist issue, it is a pocketbook issue! When are the American people going to realize this and finally get sick and tired of financially assisting them in their health care, education and anything else that they aren’t paying for. I have heard that they can come into our country, (illegally), and can get financial help to attend our colleges. I couldn’t hardly believe that until it is now affecting me, personally. My daughter who has my four grandchildren, is a single parent who is working two jobs, her main one being a server at a fine dining restaurant in downtown Minneapolis where the majority of her income is tip money. Her oldest daughter graduated from high school in June and has enrolled in cosmetology school her first day being today. She was turned down for a student loan because of my daughter’s credit, and her type of work. The father is in no position to assist her.

In desperation, my daughter called me to ask if I would co-sign a loan, so my granddaughter can have a career in cosmetology, which I will do if she can’t get any financial help. What was really frustrating about this issue, my daughter told me about a young woman, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador who has been bussing tables at the restaurant, recently quit her job because she got financial help from our government to attend college! There is something wrong with this picture!

I know that I am sick and tired of just talking about this problem (and it is a serious one) so I have contacted my congressman’s office to express my concerns regarding this. I would hope others who are concerned about this issue would do the same. I sincerely hope that the rock-throwing incident at the Third of July Parade isn’t the general feeling of the legal residents here. I support the Minnesota Coalition on Immigration Reduction for what they are trying to do to help solve these issues.

At this moment, I am hearing on the radio that there is going to be (another) increase in our health insurance. I wonder why?

When are you going to get sick and tired of being sick and tired?
