Beeson heading to San Diego

The man in charge of protecting Yuma's international border the past three years — by cracking down on drug and human smuggling operations that attempt to operate in the area, stemming the flow of illegal immigration, and preventing terrorists from sneaking into the country — is now taking his fight to another section of the nation's border.

Paul Beeson, the chief patrol agent in charge of the U.S. Border Patrol's Yuma sector, has assumed command of the nearby San Diego sector. While he is ready to take on all the new challenges that come with the new position, Beeson says he will really miss Yuma.
