The Migration Policy Institute (MPI), a liberal immigration advocacy group, is asking the Obama administration to scale back its 287 (g) program, which allows trained state and local law officers to enforce federal immigration law.

Will this group accept responsibility for IAs that came in contact with LE only to be released then commit a major felony at a later date? I'm thinking monetary compensation to victims families.
