Self-styled communists helped fuel Westlake clash with police

    [Updated]September 8, 2010 | 11:00 am

When the Los Angeles Police Department faced hundreds of protesters on the streets of the Westlake District, some were people drawn to the event from other parts of the city for political reasons.

Twenty-two people were arrested Tuesday night after protesters clashed with police near a vigil for Manuel Jamines, a Guatamalan-born day laborer fatally shot Sunday by an officer who said Jamines refused to drop a knife. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2 ... otops.html

Among those arrested was Jubilee Shine, 40, a South Los Angeles activist who heads the Coalition for Community Control Over the Police. Shine said he was arrested on 6th Street near Bonnie Brae Street just before 10 p.m.

He said he arrived in the area about 9:30 p.m. and was walking toward a crowd of demonstrators at the corner of 6th Street and Burlington Avenue when the crowd bolted toward him.

I say we go to the area where they are protesting/being violent (because thats solves all problems, basicly throwing a fit) with a big bus and we tell them because the comunity has suffered so much were going to give them money (what comunity isnt complete with a knife wieldeing drunk guy on a busy corner) and when they all get in (because lets face it we all know their here for a free ride)we take them to the border and nicely let them know that now they can express their feelings to their real goverment and see how that works for them. F.Y.I. about 2 years ago my uncle a veitnam vet was stabbed to death behind a bar by an invader as they are called here. Nobody came to support my family the guy who did now gets 3 meals a day and a nice bed to sleep in rent free for the next 10-15 yrs. these people are spoiled and need to go home they are breaking the law by even being here there should be NO santuary for them till their feet hit the border at which point they no longer are breaking the law. audios m f er

As the night wore on, protesters clashed with police. Some, including a boy who appeared no older than 13, hurled rocks, bottles and eggs at officers and at the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart station building. [-.html
