LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Ten pounds of methamphetamine worth $320,000 has been seized by U.S. Border Patrol agents working in southern New Mexico.

Agents stopped a pickup truck at the checkpoint along Interstate 25 north of Las Cruces on Monday, and found six bundles of meth wrapped in black tape inside the engine compartment.

The driver -- a 29-year-old woman from Mexico -- was arrested by Border Patrol agents and turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Border Patrol's El Paso sector -- which covers New Mexico and part of Texas -- has seized more than $74 million of illegal drugs so far this fiscal year.
