Impact of Latino Immigration on Economy Subject of Chamber of Commerce Lecture

    Dilshanie Perera

Princeton University visiting professor David Abalos spoke to the Regional Chamber of Commerce last Wednesday about the economic impact of Latino immigration on the area. Advocating for more humane policies, Mr. Abalos urged compassion toward undocumented β€” and indeed all β€” people, saying, β€œAt our best, ours is a story of democracy where everybody is sacred and everyone is equal.β€

    Now that's funny!

Sorry, but I needed a frustration break, and you did a wonderful job of supplying it for me.

They do not have to leave alone they have my permission to take all family members back with them. If they can afford the money it takes to sneak into this country it can not be all that bad in Messico.. With all these people leaving because of the way things are here I see them a cowards they come here steal jobs and welfare and then cry when they can support their family..A couple of words come to mind but that would be putting it bluntly and with jar head language not acceptable here I am sure ..

Hmmm... A Princeton visiting professor with the title "Mr." sounds fishy 'cuz everyone is a PhD these days. In any event, Mr. Abalos noted that 86% of the illegal aliens pay taxes. Huh? I didn't know that statistic existed 'cuz most illegals work "off the books" and pay neither income tax nor social security contributions. Heck, we don't even know how many are here. Estimates range from 7 million to 35 million. Regarding the old saw that our immigration system is broken, if it is, I'd opine it's the illegal aliens who broke it. Not only that, but they also broke the law and need to be sentenced. That said, I'd opine he's full of baloney and probably himself like most professors.
