FBI tip leads to 17 undocumented immigrants

MCALLEN - U.S. Border Patrol agents and Federal Bureau of Investigation officials took 17 illegal immigrants into custody after discovering they were staying in a local stash house.

Agents received a tip from local FBI agents that a trailer home in south McAllen was holding illegal immigrants, Border Patrol spokesman Daniel Milian said.

Border Patrol agents set up surveillance at the location and saw suspicious activity at the home. When they approached the door, they were given permission to search the property and discovered 17 illegal immigrants were staying there, Milian said.
