Assault rifles, ammo, pot found in Nogales suspected 'drophouse'

NOGALES -- Nogales police say they've seized 43 assault rifles, more than 19,000 rounds of ammunition and 286 pounds of marijuana from a home believed to be a drophouse for smugglers.

Police tell the Nogales International ( http://bit.ly/shwQGd ) that its officers worked from a tip about the home and worked with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to conduct a search warrant on Dec. 12.

Inside the home, they found the guns, ammo and marijuana, which was estimated to be worth about $143,000.

No arrests were reported.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and that they can't release any more information.
