SAN YSIDRO — Border Patrol agents intercepted 35 unauthorized immigrants crossing through the border fence near San Ysidro, authorities said Thursday.
The agents were alerted by Mexican law enforcement of the possible breach in an area known as Smuggler’s Gulch shortly after midnight Tuesday, officials said. Agents caught up to two vehicles, a Ford Econoline van and a GMC Sierra, about two miles east of the ocean in San Diego.
Agents arrested 27 males and eight females, all Mexicans. Their ages ranged from 16 to 56 years old.
The vehicles were seized.
