    Illegal immigrant taken into custody

    A man who was pulled over for alleged traffic violations south of Basehor turned out to be an illegal immigrant, according to a report from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

    The traffic stop occurred at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday on 158th Street south of Stillwell Road.

    A 29-year-old Bonner Springs man allegedly had been driving a Cadillac Deville 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. His vehicle also allegedly crossed over a double yellow line, according to the report.
