Border Patrol hands over equipment to Mexico

Motorcycles, all terrain vehicles and other equipment has been presented to Mexican authorities by the U.S. Border Patrol.

The equipment transferred to the Government of Mexico's Secretariat of Public Safety Tuesday includes GPS units, flashlights, mountain bikes, binoculars and other law enforcement tools obtained from the State Department's Narcotics Affairs Section.

The Border Patrol said the equipment will be specifically deployed for border security operations in areas that have been previously inaccessible and assist in providing an increased presence of law enforcement personnel on both sides of the border.

The cooperative effort comes in the wake of the killing of a Cochise County rancher last weekend.
