If you are an illegal immigrant and are married to a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident and have been a victim of abuse, you may be able to get help.

If you've been the victim of emotional, verbal, physical, or sexual abuse at the hands of your spouse, you may qualify for immigrations benefits or a valid work authorization.

Under The Violence Against Women Act, abused immigrants may obtain permanent residency and other immigration benefits that will allow them to leave their abusive situation.

We can't deal with our own spousal and child abuse and now we are inviting illegals to get in on the dole. What another piece of crap this is.

We're asking for it and we're gonna get it, this is ridiculous! Will permanent residency be taken away from "abuse" victims when they continue living with the so called abusive partner?

This is beyond insane. How many mail-order brides come here and marry some poor flake, find it is much more fun to go cavorting and start screaming spousal abuse so they are given a free pass. The women from the former Soviet Union are the worst violators. And verbal abuse is very hard to prove if there are no witnesses. This is all rotting manure as far as I am concerned.

I am sick and tired of reading about illegal immigrants getting benefits. ANY benefits. They are illegally here and need to be deported. This is not how I want my taxes to be spent.
