The numerous immigration-related bills introduced by Rhode Island legislators this session reflect a continued ideological divide over illegal immigration, and guarantee another year of charged debate. Nearly all such legislation has failed for several years in a row, but in many cases, lawmakers are back for a second, third, and even a fourth try.
