South Florida: More than 330 immigrants arrested in local roundup

Deportation officers arrested more than 330 immigrants throughout South Florida accused of evading deportation — including 104 in Broward County and 81 in Palm Beach County — during a two-week operation that ended Friday, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Most of the immigrants in custody had ignored previous orders to leave the country; 32 had been convicted of various crimes, ICE spokeswoman Barbara Gonzalez said.
It may take at least 30 days after each detainee's consuls are contacted and all travel arrangements are made before they're deported.
Those arrested are from countries as varied as Haiti, Angola, Guatemala, Brazil, Ukraine and Canada.
