Houston Police Chief Refuses FREE ICE Training
Police chief defends his immigration law stance
Hurtt says HPD won’t train to help ICE enforce federal policy
JAMES PINKERTON
While a growing number of police agencies across the country have received federal training to enforce immigration laws, Houston’s police chief maintained a strong stance Thursday against joining this trend.
At least 28 state, county and local law enforcement departments have taken training to make immigration arrests and process illegal immigrants for deportation. More than 70 others are on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement waiting list for training.
But Houston Police Chief Harold Hurtt made it clear Thursday that his department won’t be taking on ICE duties any time soon. Hurtt said enforcing immigration law in Houston would tie up officers and add long delays to police response times.

Houston Police chief
And this is exactly why the situation has gotten out of control in Houston. It is now to the point that Houston and surrounding counties have been over run by Illegal Immigrants and no one will try to stop it.
If the police would at least run immigration status checks on the thousands of drivers they pull over with no ID, driver's license, and insurance, we would at least make the streets safer. No RACIAL PROFILING involved.

We should start an email/phone drive to urge him to change his mind. Polite of course.

This is what I do not understand about this whole ICE Training business.
How difficult is it for a police officer to ask someone for identification when they come into contact with them? If someone cannot produce a valid, government id, you then have probable cause to question that individual further in order ascertain if that person is in this country legally.
If they are found to be here illegally, you arrest them and take them into custody. ICE may have an agent alrady at the local jail. if not, you would place a call to them. It's then in the hands of ICE to do what needs to be done.
This is part of the normal course of duty that police officer engaged in on a daily basis. It does not take any special ICE Training to ask for id and then do further investigation if warranted. Bank robbery is also a Federal Offense, but local officers I would assume do not need special FBI Training to apprehend a bank robbery suspects. Point is this ICE Training or lack thereof, is noting more than an excuse that local police use in an effort to avoid dealing with this issue.
We should be making it easier for local police to arrest illegals, not more difficult and this ICE Training garbage is doing just that.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

ICE volunteers
What about creating a volunteer ICE group? The county I live in has a volunteer probation officer program. A sheriff can create a posse at any time. The ICE volunteers do not need to be armed. They can work at the precincts and check the detainees for citzenship.
Many seniors have a good past with the government. I had secret clearance during and after my military service. If I lived in Houston I would give the city/county 2 days or more a week to help with this problem that is a key part in the undoing of the American republic. I am sure that there are many retired folks who would volunteer. Good citizens with government clearance will be authorized to access the database to verify citizenship.
All power to the people.

This is why I'm moving my family away from Houston as soon as possible!
I cannot raise my family in an environment that is becoming more and
more violent. The other day my 7 year old son was asking what the
MS13 gang tatoos were all about that he saw on a guy in a local store...
Or
My wife pointed to a Che Guevara sticker in a parking lot and asked me
Who is that guy? I've seen a lot of those around lately...

Living in the Houston area, one simply has to drive around and see the impact illegals have taken on certain neighborhoods. Some pretty decent areas are now so bad long-time residents have left for other areas. One school has see it's scores and ranking fall so fast, teacher are fearful of losing jobs. The largest influx of students in the past five years?? You guessed it!! Kids entering, can barely speak English, parents can not. More time and effort is being spent on ESL classes that reagular lessons and classwork is being sooooooo shortchanged, then school can't keep up.
Because of the policy of the mayor and police, more and more invaders are heading to Houston.
