US: Border inspectors find pot in cucumber truck

This time it was cucumbers that smugglers used to hide marijuana at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, according to a report from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office.

CBP officers using an X-ray machine found more than 1,700 pounds of the drug in a vegetable truck Wednesday. The pot has an estimated values of $1.8 million.
"This is a prime example of (the) ability to look at what appears to be benign importation and determine that it is in reality an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of a dangerous drug," said port director James Tong.

This is the fourth CBP marijuana bust in Nogales in three weeks, bringing the total to more than three tons.
