    It’s a tricky business when states and localities step into the traditional federal realm of cracking down on illegal immigration. A federal judge reinforced the point Thursday (July 26), when he threw out a Pennsylvania town’s penalties for hiring or renting to illegal immigrants.

    “Whatever frustrations officials of the City of Hazleton may feel about the current state of federal immigration enforcement, the nature of the political system in the United States prohibits the city from enacting ordinances that disrupt a carefully drawn federal statutory scheme,â€

    OK let's speak of precedent here. If we go by federal example the president refuses to enforce laws at his discretion so therefore wouldn't it be OK for local government to enforce existing federal laws at the discretion of local officals? After all what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If that's not good enough to suite judges that hold the balance of our countries sovereignty in their individual hands we could always band together and revolt. It was good enough for our forefathers! I don't think however it would be good to dump a load of illegals in Boston Harbor.
