Ron Paul & Immigration
Mike Warner

My name is J. Michael Warner. I am a high school dropout. A combat veteran with the U.S. Army. A former construction company owner. A father and husband. The owner of geneseecrest.blogspot.com I believe that we should secure our borders, illegal aliens should not be given amnesty and the United States should pull out of NAFTA. I am available to speak on the subject of illegal aliens, no amnesty and opposition to NAFTA. I also am available for the picketing of job sites with illegal aliens working at them.

Ron Paul's biggest appeal to me is in his support of securing our borders. Our military guards the borders of other countries, yet the border of our own country is a sieve. Ron Paul believes as the founding fathers did, the federal government should be small and being a politician should be a part time job, not a full time career. He also does not seem like the type of guy who cares about pleasing the corporate lobby. The American people will be here long after most of these corporations, what is best for the American people is what's best for the country, not what is best for the corporations is best for the American people.

I am by no means against capitalism, just against corporations running the politics and government of our country. I remember when President Clinton signed the NAFTA agreement. Ronald Reagan and George Bush were on the platform with him in bi-partisan support. The only reason why these politicians agree on this issue is because the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, together with the major corporation of our country wanted it. That is the same reason why we do not have a fence on our border, and politicians want to give amnesty to illegal aliens. It is financially in their best interest, they could care less if it would be harmful to the American citizen and our way of life.

No other country in the world has tried to absorb so many people from various ethnic cultures and survived. England once ruled the world, now they are just an island. The U.S.S.R. is now disbanded, the Russian people survive within their own original borders and the people they conquered and tried to absorb are now broken up into many individual countries along the original ethnic lines. Rome conquered most of the known world, but is now just a city.

It is great that we all try to get along, but the attempt at absorbing many ethnic cultures has not worked in the past and there is no indication that it will in the future. We need only look at the race riots and crime in Los Angeles and at the aftermath of Katrina to understand this.

If Ron Paul were to get elected and be able to get our countries borders secured, we can then get our own internal ethnic problems solved by slowing immigration down. This will give us a chance to absorb the current immigrants into our culture and way of life. Of course the illegals have to go, but we have millions of immigrants that have legally come here or were made legal in since 86'. It will take generations for these immigrants to be fully assimilated into our society. Just like it did for my family, I am 43 years old and did not know that most of my family came from Ireland until a couple years ago. Having found it out, does not make me want to be Irish. I and my family are fully assimilated Americans.
