The Bush Administration has indicated it wants doctors, clinics, and hospitals to provide flu immunizations to illegal immigrants.
In an interview with KFOX-TV, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt was asked if the federal government has any safeguards to prevent illegal immigrants from catching the flu. Leavitt responded by saying doctors should give flu shots to "every person."Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Mexican consulate reaches out to rural Colorado immigrants
By: CHASE SQUIRES - Associated Press
DENVER -- The Mexican government launched its annual winter outreach effort for immigrants in Colorado on Tuesday, saying it may be especially important this year because tough new state laws may discourage parents from getting help for their children.
Consul General Juan Marcos Gutierrez Gonzalez said rather than focus on Colorado's recent crackdown on illegal immigration, this year's effort simply aims to help at least 100,000 immigrant families in some way this winter.
"We just think we need to cooperate to prevent people from getting sick with winter diseases like the flu," he said. "The main concept of this campaign is cooperation."
Earlier this year, the state passed a package of laws intended to crackdown on illegal immigrants. Among other things, most non-emergency state services are off-limits to illegal immigrants 18 and older and employers must verify their workers are legally in the country.
Dr. Tillman Farley of the Salud Family Health Centers said the laws shouldn't keep immigrant parents, regardless of their citizenship status, from seeking health care for their children, including flu shots.
But he acknowledged mistaken perceptions of the new laws could keep some families away from health centers.
"They may not want to bring their children in for flu shots for fear of repercussions," he said. "Viruses and diseases do not recognize documentation status."
The campaign is a partnership among Mexico, Colorado and various federal programs. It also includes private charities to provide information and health care to immigrants.
The outreach effort will offer a variety of services, including flu shots and free coats to children and outdoor workers, pamphlets on travel to and from Mexico during the holiday season and information of preventing house fires.
Other winter-related topics include safe winter driving, the dangers of carbon monoxide from space heaters and the potential for the spread of illness.
