    EL CENTRO, Calif. - U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Indio Station in El Centro, Calif. bust a drug smuggler carrying more than 36 pounds of cocaine.

    The cocaine was valued at more than $1 million.

    It was stashed inside the tires of a truck.

    A canine team alerted agents to a green Dodge Dakota during a checkpoint search at Highway 111.

    Agents found 15 packages of cocaine hidden in compartments in the tires.

    A 22-year-old U.S. citizen was arrested and turned over to the DEA.
