Allegation spurs crackdown on illegal encampments

POWAY – After an illegal immigrant was charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy, Poway plans to get more aggressive in shutting down illegal encampments.
Last month, authorities successfully used a police helicopter equipped with a heat-seeking sensor to capture the suspect. They arrested Jesús Mora Nava, 30, five hours after the boy reported that Nava lured him into the brush, where he had apparently been living, near a middle school.

The city plans to use a helicopter and sensors to hunt for similar encampments, City Manager Rod Gould said.
