Immigrant crushed by train in Arizona

Immigrant crushed by train in Arizona
    May. 27, 2010 02:01 PM

TUCSON - Santa Cruz County authorities say an illegal immigrant was crushed after trying to hitch a ride on a train Wednesday.

Sheriff Tony Estrada said U.S. Border Patrol agents discovered the body of a 29-year-old man in between two railroad cars on a Union Pacific line near Bridge Road in Tubac.

Estrada said agents called in the Sheriff's Office, which has been working with the Mexican Consulate to notify the family of the Nogales, Mexico, man.

The Sheriff said it appeared the man was trying to ride on the train when he fell in between the cars and was crushed by the steel couplings that hold the trains together.

I am sure his family will sue Sheriff Joe. No particular reason needed.

The family will sue, claiming the two sets of tracks are too close together which endangers unauthorized boarders. The train company will have to redesign all the train cars and move the tracks wider apart to allow for unauthorized boarders. Also, the region is hot, so they will be required to build shelters between the tracks with water fountains. Finally, the trains will be required to stop for the unauthorized boarders. No one of hispanic decent will be required to show a ticket. That would be racist. If this is not a passenger train then they will be required to have an equal number of passenger cars.
