A group of volunteers from Charlotte, travelled last June 17 to Raleigh the capital of the state, to deliver 4,000 signatures to the state legislators and to carry out a day of lobbying in favor of the undocumented students.

The package of signatures was delivered to Joe Hackney, president of the state House of Representatives, from the hands of the students, Erika Nassar and John Pulgarin, who they expressed with their words the message of the group.

"These signatures are to support the entrance to schools and universities of the undocumented students and to request the representatives to support a law to theirfavor", expressed Nassar, of 16 years, student of the Butler Highschool in Charlotte, where she is taking 11th grade.

Hackney thanked the group, the delivered signatures were collected by more than 30 volunteers in churches, schools, and apartments.

According to Rubén Campillo, director of common matters of the Coalition, the objective of the visit, was to pressure the legislators so that they support the government bill HB 2717 in favor of the undocumented students, and they be against the proposed HB 2237 and the SB 2019, that would block every possibility to give them the access.
