A public memorial service will be held Friday to honor the memory of slain U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian A. Terry.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. at Kino Stadium, formerly known as Tucson Electric Park, 2500 E. Ajo Way.

The service is open to the public.

Agent Terry was killed in Dec. 14 during a shootout with illegal immigrant border bandits near Peck Canyon northwest of Nogales late in the evening.

Terry, 40, was waiting with three other agents north of Nogales when a gunbattle with the bandits began. Four suspects were arrested.
