East Greenwich suspect in Guatemala





Investigators say the man known as Jenaro Jimenez is back home in Guatemala.




Suspect escapes police custody after arrest





EAST GREENWICH, R.I. (WPRI) - Police have released new details on a suspect who escaped from East Greenwich police last week.

Investigators say the man known as Jenaro Jimenez is back home in Guatemala.

Police say Jimenez managed to run right out the front door of the East Greenwich police station, after being arrested on disorderly conduct charges.

State police say they learned from U.S. Marshals that Jimenez had boarded a plane to Central America last Thursday.

There's no word on whether they plan to try and get him back in the U.S. to face charges.

For such poverty stricken people doing all our minimum wage jobs, they sure can escape with ease while I'm calculating trips to the grocery store.

I know! Where do they get the money to fly? Its got to be a few hundred dollars for airfare.

Or the gas for a quick trip back to Mexico when we are wondering if my husband can get to work! I mean this isn't chump change here......they can pay a coyote thousands, but they can't live where they are. (which should be more than enough) Just doesn't ring true here......not if it's real and true poverty. I don't get welfare when I have enough money to go abroad.

Pure incompetence it seems to be running wild in America!!
