WOODBRIDGE, Virginia.

A man has been charged with carjacking after a woman said he stole her car while she was warming it up in a Woodbridge parking lot Monday.

A 35-year-old Woodridge woman told police she was warming up her car in the parking lot of Marumsco Plaza, at 14001 Jefferson Davis Highway just after midnight Monday when a man approached her car, said Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

The woman told police the man threatened her, then forced her out of the vehicle and drove it away, Perok said.

Fairfax County police found the vehicle on Jefferson Davis Highway, just across the Fairfax County line, Perok said.

A Fairfax County police K-9 unit found the suspected carjacker nearby.

The man, identified as Felix Mendez-Garcia, 27, of no fixed address, was charged with carjacking.

He is being held without bond pending an April 13 court date.

The woman was not injured.
