Democrats hound Barletta for Meuser support

Party committee complains that Hazleton mayor’s endorsement a contradiction.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee continues to pressure Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta to withdraw his endorsement of Republican Dan Meuser in the 10th Congressional District race.

But Barletta refuses to comply.

The DCCC says Barletta’s endorsement contradicts his well-known stance on illegal immigration. Barletta, a Republican, is headed for a November showdown with 12-term incumbent U.S. Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Nanticoke.

A Hazleton ordinance proposed by Barletta last year would penalize employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants.

Barletta endorsed Meuser in his race against Hackett for the Republican nomination in the 10th Congressional District.

Both candidates have been accused of hiring illegal immigrants – Meuser through his company, Pride Mobility, and Hackett for hiring a housekeeper.

The DCCC dam sure doesn't care bout us , with jobs or immigration policy.
I would trust Barletta judgment . IMO he fought a hard long battle with "America" (aclu,la raza ,msm) NO one came to his support Un-bias . Except Lou Dobbs . There is only so much Dobbs can do but he did what he could in that matter on Hazleton . Barletta , he's seen the dirt and i trust him right now. Where was Dean when Barletta could have used some support ???
