LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A 6-year-old girl abducted in Lafayette was able to escape from the man police said knocked her off her bike and dragged her into his mobile home.

The abduction happened Wednesday evening at the Point East Mobile Home Park, said Lafayette Detective Mark Pinkard.

The 6-year-old told police she was riding her bike with her sister and others when a man grabbed her and forced her into his mobile home.

The girl said she was able to escape when the man left her alone for a moment.

Police later arrested Emilio Villanueva, 47, in connection with the abduction. He was preliminarily charged with battery on a child under 14 and criminal confinement.

Villanueva also had outstanding warrants out of Houston, Texas, for child molestation-related charges and was considered a deported felon by Immigration Customs Enforcement, police said.

The 6-year-old suffered a bruise on her leg. She told police she did not know Villanueva.

    Thank goodness she got away!

The same media we just informed about the North Carolina attempted kidnapping of a 9 yr. old needs to hear about this as well. There IS a pattern of behavior among parts of the male illegal alien hispanic population regarding little girls. It cannot be ignored.

I agree.....it doesn't seem to be a rarity.....it almost seems like it's normal and acceptable to them.

Lock him up forever and take the cost off the "aid" we give his home country.

You may wonder if Mexico advises pedos to go north when they are caught molesting mexican kids. Nobody wants the expense of locking them up.

    IND-6

He was wanted in HOUSTON on child molestation charges.

Houston does not hold anyone who can post bond. Legal status checks are not done. Everyone knows the illegals will disappear before a court hearing, but that's ok. We NEED these people to do the hard work and contibute to the economy.
There was a story on chron.com this morning about a 'suspected' murderer with a felony record being allowed out on bail. He has bailed out several times, never shows for court, and is now back on the streets of Houston, providing a better life for himself.
Actually, I am not sure he is here illegally or not, but at least someone is asking why this guy was allowed bail ....again.
It appears the corruption of Mexico has taken hold in Houston. Remenber the Border Patrol agent who was murdered by an immigrant who fled back to Mexico and the judge there let him go? The judges here do the same thing, knowing these criminals will kill again.

    Man arrested in abduction

    By Sophia Voravong • svoravong@journalandcourier.com • August 8, 2008

A man charged in Texas with a sex offense against a minor is accused in Lafayette of abducting a 6-year-old girl who lived in his mobile home community.

The girl was able to escape.

Emilio Villanueva, 47, was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of battery on a child under 14, criminal confinement and false informing. Villanueva, who does not speak English, had given responding officers a fake name, Detective Mark Pinkard of the Lafayette Police Department said.

Villanueva was being held late Thursday in the Tippecanoe County Jail on a $50,000 surety bond. He also is being detained on a hold through Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, and a warrant from Texas, jail staff said.

Lafayette police were called just before 8 p.m. Wednesday to Point East Mobile Home Park on the city's east side after the victim's father reported the alleged abduction.

Pinkard said the girl, her sister and others had been riding their bicycles in the area when the girl was knocked off her bicycle and forcefully carried away by a man, later identified as Villanueva.

While inside, the girl was left alone for a brief moment.

"She took that chance to run out the door," Pinkard said.

He said investigators have not been able to determine how long the girl had been held by Villanueva because the girl and her sister, who speak broken English, were not sure how much time had transpired.

Police estimated it to be 10 to 15 minutes based on when they were called, Pinkard said.

The girl suffered a bruise on her leg -- either from being pushed off her bike or from being carried -- but otherwise was physically unharmed.

Pinkard said Villanueva, who was arrested at his home, is believed to have lived in the Lafayette area for the past four years.

Villanueva had been arrested years ago for Indiana's equivalent to either sexual misconduct or child molestation, Pinkard said. A check of Texas' Sex Offender Registry and Department of Correction Web sites did not show any information that matched Villanueva's name and age.

Pinkard said a warrant was issued for his arrest after he violated probation or parole. He also is noted by ICE as a felon who qualifies for deportation.

Police were able to learn Villanueva's actual identity from neighbors at the scene Wednesday

Attempted abduction of 6 year old

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A man convicted of sexual misconduct in Texas was arrested Thursday in Lafayette for allegedly trying to abduct a young girl.

Lafayette Police say 47-year-old Emilio Villanueva approached a six year old girl as she was riding her bicycle in the Point East Mobile Home Community on State Road 38 East. Detective Mark Pinkard said Villanueava grabbed the girl and took her inside his home, at Lot 35 Point East.

The girl told Pinkard she cried while in his trailer and ran away as soon as she could. She told her sister what happened, and their father called police. Villanueva was arrested at his home. He is charged with battery, confinement and false informing.

Pinkard said Villanueva had a prior charge of sexual misconduct in Texas. He was also wanted on two warrants. One, for a parole violation on the sexual misconduct charge. The second, from the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcment agency for being a deported felon.

These things are happening far too often. I'm wondering if some of these countries might be emptying their prisons on us. Remember Castro did that to us. Maybe it's happening again.

And regarding checking back with their home countries regarding "records"....for one thing many of them probably have the poorest of record keeping too and were late in becoming computerized as well.

When pro-amnesty people talk about a "background check" on illegal aliens I always think it is rediculous.

Their records are probably in shambles and have been changed or thrown out or deleted.....

I believe their records would be extremely inaccurate and not dependable.
