Trying to integrate our immigrant population here in Commerce City is a big task. We need to cater to all those who don't speak English. We need to cater to those who will not try to speak English. We need to integrate those who are here illegally into our city. 90% of these people are from south of the US border.

How and why are we integrating illegal aliens into our city you ask? We are because of the Supporting Immigrant and Refugee Families Initiative (SIRFI), a program of The Colorado Trust. SIRFI was formed in 2000 to support mental health and other services to immigrants in Colorado. The program expanded in 2004 and began granting money to 10 communities that were trying to integrate their immigrant populations and make them feel more at home.

Well, like I said earlier, we need to make these illegal aliens feel more at home in our city. Make them feel more comfortable, so that they are not afraid to be here illegally.

Mr. DiPaulo, who is the city's representative in the effort to create the plan to make them feel more at home, said the money will be used to find much-needed programs to help immigrants be a part of our community. Plans include providing housing resources, a mediation program, citizenship classes, and a youth pen-pal program, he said. A part-time city staff person will also be hired to run the program. (Your tax dollars at work which means the city is giving it's blessing on this)

So in his statement, Mr DiPaulo states that there would be citizenship classes. These people are not American citizens!

One of the Commerce City residents involved with the planning was Guillermo Serna. Mr. Serna said he became involved in the process to help the multiple immigrant groups in Commerce City. Mr Serna said he has seen the city grow, and with it, a need for greater services.

More services? More services? How many services should we be providing these people who are in our city illegally? We already print our city bulletins in English and in Spanish. Why not also in Korean and Chinese, while the taxpayers foot the bill.

The last US Census showed about 38 percent of Commerce City residents spoke a language other than English at home. What language could this be? I have a suspicion that it s a Spanish version language. About 20 percent of Commerce City residents are foreign born, which should give us a good example of how many people living in our city could be illegal aliens.

Other cities that have received SIRFI grants include Denver, Greeley and Evans, Original Aurora, Telluride Region, the San Luis Valley, and Littleton. Which I can only advise that these cities have high concentrations of latin people. Makes sense now, why these cities are now getting these grants!

So again, lets all help our illegal aliens in Commerce City. Lets raise our taxes, why don't we turn our city into a comfortable safe haven for these illegal aliens, and lets have the City Council cooperate with this, so then we have our local government involved in helping illegal aliens so we all loose. Federal law prohibits helping or providing assistance to ANY illegal alien in our country. I guess there are some who just don't want to obey our laws, even if you are the city government.

Looks like Commerce City is well on its way to being another Los Angeles!

I honestly believe this guy should be subjected to a MANDATORY drug test and mental health evaluation if he intends to remain in a position of leadership!
