Colo.-based roofer plans to create permanent Ariz. office, hire 100 in metro Phoenix

A Colorado-based roofing company said it plans to hire 100 Phoenix-area sales associates and roofers to help meet continued demand for repair services after a freak hailstorm in October.

Contracting firm 1st Choice Roofing Company of Colorado said it already is a licensed roofing firm in Arizona, has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and is establishing a permanent facility in the Valley under the name Arizona's 1st Choice Roofing Company.

A brief but violent storm that struck the Phoenix area Oct. 5 rained down hailstones as large as golf balls on some parts of the Valley, damaging an estimated 150,000 roofs. Roofing-industry representatives have said the wait for repairs could be as long as six months for some homeowners.
