this is identity politics. This is dangerous. The caucus is not talking at all about latinos being Americans and a furtherance of their lives as also a means to contribute and enrich America. it is all about identity politics, and bottom line it is about the Spanish language, period. This is what these peole want, parity with English. They want to latinize this country (they have said it) by pushing a demographic hegemony agenda.

THEY NEED TO CLARIFY THEIR POSITION AND TO DO SO THEY NEED TO BE CHALLENGED ABOUT THIS AND IT NEEDS TO BE DONE NOW!

There should be a recourse against these idiots who refuse to represent ALL the people.

That's part of our problem. We don't have enough resources or recourses because we have no representation. As the "majority" in this country, our government is supposed to fill those orders.

The problem is we have allowed it by not making noise about ethnocentric programs and policies. We shell out our tax dollars and politicians and race based groups reap the benefits. Until the people this nation rise up against politicians who push race based programs it will never end. La Raza is a good example. Millions of tax payers’ dollars go into funding this organization with the blessing of our government and they only grow stronger and more influential. Yet the taxpayers say little to nothing about being shutout from receiving the benefits because they are of the wrong ethnic back ground.

Until we take a stand against these types of policies and organizations it will never end. The saddest part is the ethnocentric groups exist within our own government, ie, the Hispanic caucus, the Black caucus, and many others. We have allowed it by saying nothing.

The reason these groups are so successful is because they will scream discrimination at the drop of a hat and take it to court. The only way to end the race based ethnocentric politics and policies are to employ the same tried and proven methods.

If the program or group is funded with any amount of taxpayers money by law is should be open to all no matter your race color or religion. This is current law.

The point I was trying to convey was to make the claim of discrimination because your not included. If enough people who normally sit quietly and say to themselves, more funding for La Raza, no surprise there, would write their congressman and raised the discrimination claim maybe a little more caution would be use when this type of legislation comes to the floor. Currently when this type legislation comes to the floor its an almost guaranteed for passage because few speak out.

This a real sore spot with me. I think they deleberatly keep the numbers down, so they can remain the minority, at least, in the eyes of the public IE believe what they read in the MSM. They, legal or illegal ? are, in fact, the majority in LA County, and possibly Orange County now as well, and who knows where else. There's really no way of knowing how many IA's are here. Therefore, our claims of discrimination wouldn't be valid. They play the minority race card, to enforce "their need for representation", so if we do speak up, we're the racists, hate mongers, bigots etc. I am going to write my congressman and raise this issue. We wouldn't, for one minute, get away with a "white only" org.

The International Affairs Fellowship is a 12 month, intensive leadership development experience for two graduate level professionals interested in experiencing the connection between domestic and international policy. For the first nine months of the Fellowship, program participants will be placed at an international-related agency or organization in Washington, D.C. The final three months of the Fellowship will take place in Mexico.
I can almost guarantee this fellowship will go to latino students who are US citizens or legal immigrants. In the worldwide business community, Spanish is NOT a widely spoken language. English and French are. If students who speak NO English or French are chosen, this "experiment" will fail.
