Traffic Stop Finds 8 Suspected Illegal Immigrants
Group Was Traveling From Houston To Los Angeles

PUEBLO, Colo. -- When troopers stopped a van for an improper lane change this week, they ended up arresting two men on suspicion of human trafficking.

The Colorado State Patrol stopped the van one mile south of Pueblo on Interstate 25 Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers said the found 10 people in an eight-passenger van, including a 17-year-old boy who was riding in the cargo space between the rear door and the rear seat, according to the Pueblo Chieftain.

The newspaper said Santos Rufino Miranda-Mendoza and Walter Anival Zuniga-Sosa, were paid $400 each to take turns driving the group from Houston to Los Angeles. Troopers arrested both men.

The other occupants in the van were arrested on suspicion of illegally entering the country. The newspaper said the group admitted to being illegal immigrants from Honduras.
