Three Mount Pleasant residents are in the Titus County Jail after Titus County Sheriff Office (TCSO) deputies found multiple fake identity documents during a search warrant served at a house located at 109 North Cecelia on Thursday afternoon.

"This case first began when our investigators learned that an individual might want to sell a possibly stolen and defaced weapon," said Lt. Brent Smith, head of the TCSO Criminal Investigation Division.

"We sent in an undercover officer, but the gun turned out to not be stolen or defaced, but the suspect was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of no driver's license," Smith continued.

When the suspect, Pedro Espino-Rodriguez, was brought to the TCSO office for an interview, he apparently made statements that led deputies to believe he might have fraudulent identification at his home.

Deputies then obtained a search warrant and went to the house at 109 North Cecelia. They found two women at the home, Sally Espino, 32, and Adilene Guerrero, 24, who were detained while a search of the residence was conducted.

"We didn't expect to find all the things we did find and this investigation is going to extend maybe for several months while we bring in other agencies, such as ICE, to get to the bottom of all the documents we found," Smith said.

According to Smith, TCSO searchers found: multiple fraudulent Texas I.D. cards; at least 10 fraudulent Social Security cards; multiple fraudulent permanent resident cards (green cards); fraudulent IRS documentation and tax returns; Mexico birth certificates; a Texas fishing license; a fraudulent Texas driver's license; fraudulent Mexico I.D. cards; employment I.D. cards from area businesses where the suspects worked and other paperwork.

All three residents of the house, Pedro Espino-Rodriguez, Sally Espino and Adilene Guerrero, have been charged with a third degree felony charge of tamper with government documents.

Espino-Rodriguez was arrested and charged with the felony at the Titus County Jail where he was incarcerated at the time of the search.

"This case is still under investigation and will be until we get all of this straightened out," Smith said.

"There could be more arrests with this, we'll just keep following the trail and see where it leads," he said.
