CBP Southbound Operations Seize Nearly $27,000

Douglas, Ariz. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped an illegal exportation of more than $27,000 while screening traffic during southbound operations.

On October 26 at about 12:30 p.m., CBP officers were screening traffic going into Mexico as part of a southbound operation. The officers selected a vehicle being driven by a 24-year-old woman from Douglas, Ariz. Further inspection revealed that the woman was attempting to smuggle more than $27,000 out of U.S. The CBP officers found the illegal currency concealed on the women’s waist band.
