CBP Officers Apprehend Murder Suspect at Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge

Hidalgo, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge apprehended a man wanted by the state of Texas on a murder charge.

On March 13, CBP officers working the northbound pedestrian lanes at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge came in contact with a male traveler. At primary, the man identified himself as Francisco Hernandez Zamora, a 21-year-old Mexican citizen from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Hernandez Zamora told CBP officers that he was a wanted person and that he wished to voluntarily surrender to law enforcement authorities.

In secondary, CBP officers established that Hernandez Zamora was the subject of a criminal arrest warrant issued by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office on a state of Texas murder charge. After his arrest, Hernandez Zamora was transferred to the custody of the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, Edinburg, Texas where he remains incarcerated.
