A Bonita Springs man threatens his wife’s life out of fear of being deported after a domestic dispute.

The victim told Lee County deputies she arrived home, on the 11200 block of Tango Drive, Saturday night with her children after church. She says she placed them in bed for the evening, and about 30 minutes later, her husband came out of his bedroom and ordered her to come to bed with him.

According to reports, Marcelino Solis Garcia, 33, became so angered when she refused that he grabbed her by the throat, struck her several times, and threatened to kill her if he were to be deported or arrested. Solis’ wife told deputies she believes her husband is wanted by immigration for deportation, which he has been avoiding for about 10 years.

Solis’ wife decided to report the incident after she arrived home Tuesday and Solis started another unprovoked argument with her, reports said. Solis was arrested Wednesday by Lee deputies at his home and is facing battery charges.
