Thread: Latino leaders focus on Morristown as 287(g) looms

It came like a golpe frio (cold slap) on Friday, when word swept through Morristown’s Latino community that 287(g), the federal regulation that allows local police to be deputized as immigration officers, actually was going to happen.

“We were shocked and we feel terrible because of the kind of situations that will be coming to the communities of Morris County. It’s not only Morristown. It will affect Morris County,â€

Officer Selection Requirements
Participating officers in the 287(g) program must meet the following requirements:
• U.S. citizenship
• Current background investigation completed
• Minimum two years experience in current position
• No disciplinary actions pending
Training Requirements
ICE offers a four-week training program now held at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) ICE Academy (ICEA) in Charleston, SC conducted by certified instructors.

287(g) Results and Participating Entities
Since January 2006, the 287(g) program is credited with identifying more than 79,000 individuals, mostly in jails, who are suspected of being in the country illegally. More than 950 officers have been trained and certified through the program under 67 active MOAs, as follows:

Over 3,000 Districts in America need the 287g Program and E-Verify. 23 states have a few 287g Program, this is bothersome.

Would be best if we golpe frio all of them out of the country, and if they want to come back, they can wait 10 years and come back legally.
The law is to be respected, and churchmen really have no right to voice or encourage the breaking of the laws, nor should they have a say in local politics or any politics.

The businesses and churches think it is fine to give taxpayer money to illegal aliens, but don't tax either of them to pay for the illegal aliens.
