Two suspected undocumented immigrants were caught after they allegedly abandoned a vehicle containing marijuana on a Phoenix freeway Monday morning.

Police were reportedly following a truck with suspended plates when the truck pulled off on the on ramp to Interstate 10 at 35th Avenue.

Two suspects bailed from the vehicle and 15 to 17 bails of marijuana were discovered inside of it.

According to Officer James Holmes with the Phoenix Police Department, a perimeter was established in the area of 35th Avenue and Latham Street as officers searched for the suspects.

Police said they found the suspects after a K9 officer located and bit them.

No weapons were used during this incident, according to police.
