Mexico to honor Kennedy for defending immigrants

Mexico to honor Kennedy for defending immigrants

    The Associated Press

MEXICO CITY — The Mexican government says it will honor U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy for his defense of immigrant rights.

Mexico announced Friday it will award Kennedy the Aguila Azteca, the highest honor the government can bestow on foreign dignitaries.

Kennedy will be presented with a sash in Washington, according to an announcement published by Mexico’s federal registry.

Mexico says the Massachusetts Democrat has denounced injustices against migrants and “highlighted the importance of addressing illegal immigration by looking for an integral solution.â€

Translated: for pushing for amnesty and (flawed) immigration law changes since 1965 that helps the Mexican elite send millions of their impoverished citizens north to the US, so the corrupt Mexican government doesn't have to fundamentally reform.

    He is so proud

Do you think he is truly sorry a true American is sick or endangered due to illegals

I do hate he is so sick and dying, though.

I read that in the earlier history of our country, a major fear of national leaders was that, if the Irish Catholics on the East Coast were to meet geographically with the Mexican Catholics in the West and Southwest, the two would encircle the rest of the population and turn the United States into a Catholic country. That appears to be exactly what is happening. For this we have to "thank" the Kennedy family and their Catholic heirarchy advisors since the 1960's. It is certainly disheartening that, after all of his family's generations in the United States, Ted Kennedy still refers to himself as "a member of an Irish Catholic family" rather than as "an American"!

I offer this only as an observation of what I see, and not a statement of religious or national bigotry: my great-grandfather and his three sisters immigrated to the U.S. legally from Ireland, and I strongly oppose the "special amnesty" for illegal Irish nationals for which the Irish government continues to lobby!
