Sheriff's deputies arrested two men at a Scottsdale business on Tuesday for ID theft and forgery.

Both are accused of being undocumented immigrants.

According to a news release from the Maricopa County Sheriff's office, one of the men was earning $85,000 as a foreman at Stealth Demolition near Hayden Road and Raintree Drive.

Sheriff's deputies said they arrested both men after serving a search warrant at the Scottsdale business and seizing employee personnel and pay records.

A tip apparently came to the Sheriff's Office hotline several months ago from a former employee who told Sheriff's investigators that the company was hiring undocumented immigrants.

Deputies said that Tuesday's operation marks their 17th investigation in the past year relating to business establishment's involvement with illegal immigration.

To date, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said his department's operations have netted 241 arrests. Of those arrests, 145 of the suspects have been charged with felony ID theft and forgery.

Sheriff Arpaio said his office went ahead with the investigation on Tuesday despite a new policy from U.S. Secretary of the Homeland Security Janet Napolitano Department.

That policy states that federal immigration authorities will now only focus their efforts on employers, not employees who are in the country illegally.
