Bersin: Mexican drug violence threat major concern
Bersin: Mexican drug violence threat major concern
By ARTHUR H. ROTSTEIN, The Associated Press

NOGALES, Ariz. — The federal government's border czar says ongoing concerns that drug-related violence in Mexico poses a threat to American communities remain the Obama administration's border focus.
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Alan Bersin, who visited Arizona's busiest commercial port here on Wednesday, says those concerns have triggered a series of border security initiatives and brought about closer cooperation with Mexican federal authorities.
Bersin says DHS officials take the threat of spillover violence seriously and are prepared to respond with contingency plans. But he says there has been no spillover yet. Still, he said there's significant violence in the United States related to the activity of illegal immigrant and drug smuggling.

It isn't only Phoenix, but everywhere. In any small town or large city there are murders by gangs and drug and human traffickers.
For DHS to ignore this continually expanding problem is turning a blind eye to the needs of American citizens wanting a secure border.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

I don't know for sure Bersin's definition of "spillover violence" but at least the lower valley in Texas seems to have "spillover violence" if not the entire state and I suspect the Border States in the Southwest of the U.S. are also experiencing "spillover violence". Maybe Bersin can furnish us with a Number of deaths, rapes, and robberies required to determine when we have crossed the threshold for "spillover violence".

No spill over yet????? Gee, wonder why Phoenix has the 2nd highest kidnapping rate in the world? Does he think that's due to American citizens kidnapping Americans?
