ND: Conrad Reacts to Failed Immigration Bill

Conrad Reacts to Failed Immigration Bill
    Nick Dreyer
    7/6/2007

Reports out of Washington D.C. say that the next time another immigration bill will get argued is when another President is in the White House.

An immigration bill supported by both republicans and democrats failed by 14 votes in the Senate, it needing 60.

As KMOT told you in May, Senator Byron Dorgan did not like the immigration bill saying it took away jobs from Americans.

North Dakota`s other senator has been pretty quiet on immigration, until we asked him about it.

Senator Kent Conrad says he voted in favor of the immigration bill, but only to keep the discussion moving forward.

"I would have liked to have given it more of a chance to get fixed so then we could address the issues,â€

They hear what they want to hear. Selective hearing in very prevalent among politicians.
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!

this bill was so bad there was no fixing it. Not only would it have given 20 million illegals a path to citizenship, it would have allowed the President to proceed with SPP with Americans paying for it. why should we pay for improving Mexico's infrastructure when they have world's richest man along with many billionaries. If mexico wants it health care and infrastructure improved then these people need to pay for it nor american citizens.
