View From Lodi, CA: Is It All Over For The Golden State? (With JoeNote to VDARE.COM readers)
    By Joe Guzzardi

When I look back on my twenty-year body of columns, I see dozens of articles I wrote about California’s population explosion.

Lord knows I have done my part to raise awareness among the citizens regarding the consequences of unchecked population growth.

In 2003, in a quixotic effort, I ran for Governor of California in the Recall Gray Davis election. My platform stressed how damaging a dramatic population explosion is to our quality of life. Everything is negatively impacted: schools, hospitals, construction, crime and the environment.

Talk about flailing at windmills. No one listened—especially people in the state and federal government who have the power to act.

I’ve said repeatedly: “More people equals more problems.â€

    A VERY explicit article.

The day this prediction of the future population growth in California was printed, my local newsrag was all aglow over how wonderful this will be for the economy, etc.

The very next day they went back to warning us of impending water and power shortages and how we all need to cut back our usage.

There is an absolute, total cognitive disconnect in the media between an exploding population (fueled by illegal immigration, although they would never mention that) and the shortages were supposedly currently facing.
It's like hell vomited and the Bush administration appeared.

That is scary. I live on the opposite coast, but if these predictions come to fruition it will affect every state as the overflow tries to escape. What has this done to property values in California?

The overflow already is escaping. Many of the hispanics in my city that I talk to came from CA. They say it is crazy there and that's why they moved. They talk about how peaceful my city is. To me it is not peaceful because I remember the way it was before my city's population doubled.
