I find the wording of the threat interesting.

State Patrol Investigating Racist E-Mails

(AP) DENVER The Colorado State Patrol on Thursday opened an investigation
into e-mails sent to a black lawmaker that included references to
"lynching" and a "firing squad," the latest in a string from people
claiming to be a member of the anti-illegal immigrant group, the
Minutemen.

Rep. Terrance Carroll, D-Denver, said he turned the e-mails over to the
state patrol because threats have increased. He said marshals recently
intercepted a brick that someone tried to have placed on his desk on the
floor of the House and promised more were on the way, suggesting Carroll
wants to build a wall around Colorado to keep out the Minutemen.

"You are so lucky lynching and the firing squad for treason aren't
available punishments anymore. I'd vote you in, in a heartbeat," the
e-mail said.

One message read that if wants to help illegal immigrants, he should "go
to there and represent them... there's no one here gonna put up with you
and your kind."

Rep. Dave Schultheis, who met in Arizona in October with the Minutemen
Civil Defense Corps -- private citizens who patrol the border -- said
members of the group have a secure Internet Web site where members are
required to register. He said the e-mail did not come from anyone in the
group he supports.

"This makes me mad, it's troubling," Schultheis said

Carroll said it will be difficult to prosecute if the person is caught
because there was no direct threat, but he said most people making
threats
identified themselves as members of the Minutemen.
